Business Opportunities for Swedish Companies in Southern Africa
September 18 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
Welcome to an interactive seminar on the opportunities and challenges of doing business in Southern Africa, co-hosted by SSACC and Stockholm Chamber of Commerce
Southern Africa, also known as the Southern African Development Community (SADC) – is a regional economic block consisting of 16 Member States
SADC is home to 277 million people with a combined GDP of USD 575.5 Billion. The EU is the region’s largest trading partner with and exclusive trading agreement signed between the EU and some of the SADC member states. SADC counties occupy 8 of the top 10 rankings on Ease of Doing Business in Sub-Saharan Africa for 2018 and have continued to show policy improvements towards industrialization and service delivery.
The region consists of a diverse group of countries, from African power house South Africa, financial center Mauritius, to diamond, copper and oil giants Botswana, Zambia and Angola respectively. While the region boosts uniformity in trade policy, each market is different and requires a different approach. During the seminar you will get an overview of business opportunities in the region, as well as practical tips from several years of experience, both country specific and across the region.
